About this experience

Limestone monoliths, called 'raukar' in Swedish, can be found all along the coastline of the Swedish Baltic islands of Gotland and Fårö. These stone columns were a result of erosion during the Ice Age, all that are left of ancient fossilised coral reefs. They serve as a symbol of Gotland, and are popular among tourists and locals alike.
