About this experience

The oldest traces of sawmill activity are from 1712, and the sawmill was running until a snowy winter in 1959 when the buildings collapsed.

Since 1999, we have little by little, and with volunteer work, restored and recreated the machines and buildings. Today, 300 years of hydropower history is available for visitors.

During the summer season, our local guides will give you a tour and demonstrate the band saw, the circular saw, a modern power plant and a water-driven mill, amongst other machineries. Freshly made waffles and coffee can be bought in our café, and if you are up for a hike or mountain biking, Sagelva is the perfect starting point!
