Route description - Flakkefossen is one of Birkeland most spectacular attractions. The view from the top is also worth seeing. We recommend walking there from Birkeland.

Start from the football ground and follow the illuminated ski track to the suspension bridge crossing Tovdal River. Follow the signs to Flakk. Approach the waterfall from the bottom and follow the marked path upwards.

In the 18th century there was a large timber chute from the dam at the top of the waterfall down to the lake. The dam can still be seen.

By car: Pass northwards through Birkeland centre, turn left to Mosfjell, cross bridge and turn left, follow road up to waterfall. Parking next to waterfall. (SPOT THE TROLL IN FLAKKEFOSSEN WATERFALL)
