Råde church
Østfold, NorwayAbout this experience
A lovely Medieval church that was built in 1185.
It was built in the Romanesque style, and has a scenic location at the top of the moraine, with views of the town.
The church's layout follows the basic layout of Medieval stone churches: it faces west, has a solid tower with a porch, a rectangular nave and narrow choir and apse.
The altarpiece was made by Knut Billedsnider in 1638.
The church also has a 16th century baptismal bowl.
Visits can be organized by calling the Råde parish office at tel. +47 69 28 58 11.
