About this experience

The Iceland Touring Association huts Botnar on river South Emstrua accommodate 60 people (3 huts x 20). They are equipped with gas stoves, utensils and running cold water. During summer, the warden of the huts lives in a separate house. Shower and WCs are in the fourth house and fee is charged for the use of the shower.

The huts are about half-way on the trail Just south of the huts is a pedestrian bridge across the aforementioned river. A short and rewarding walk takes you to the canyons of river Markarfljot and a mountain track allows 4wd-vehicles access to the huts. GPS: N63°45, 980 W19°22, 450 By the walking route Laugavegur. Gas for cooking, water, wc.
