About this experience

The Forestry Museum showcases the history of the forest industry all the way from the rise of the sawmill industry in the 1860's to the mechanization in the 1960's. Within the area of the Forestry Museum there’s an exhibition hall, a logging hut, a sauna, a horse stable and forestry machinery.

Near the museum you will also find the a beach, lean-to shelters and campfire sites. There is also the Messukallio cliff, a devotional place in local history. The hiking trail of Käpykintukka takes you through the scenery of lake Kaidatvedet from Forestry Museum to Käenkoski. The length of the trail is about 7 km.

Nature trail of Gustav the Moose is a 2 km round trail for children and families, with activation points and different forest facts. The trails have some challenging terrain and variations in elevation, therefore they are very challenging for the disabled.

The Forestry Museum area is free to use at all times.
