Museum is located in an old factory in the city centre of Valkeakoski.

There is a permanent exhibition that tells a story of the history of the Valkeakoski and Sääksmäki area. The journey takes the viewer from the pre-historic era to the modern times. The story brings people from the past to life. The strong industrial heritage is an important part of the exhibition.

Also several changing ehxibitions take place at the museum every year. In Myllysaari one can also visit Finland's Football museum. One of the unique items of Myllysaari museum is a genuine Venetian gondola.

The gondola was acquired by the legendary paper mill director Juuso Walden. In the museum shop one can find locally produced items and souvenirs.
