About this experience

Kværkeby Bird Sancturary was established in 1970. The Sanctuary covers 9 hectares or 92, 044 square meters. Until August 2010 it was private property and has now been taken over by an association.

Visits: Guided tours only on appointment to Benny Rosenqvist, tel: +45 2422 0537 or +45 5753 3053. The Sanctuary covers meadow and moor land and a gravel pit. 3, 000 trees and bushes to give shelter for the wind have been planted. The area of water covers 6 hectares. The list of species is now 151 different birds, of which 64 have breaded.

Furthermore, 25 different species of mammals, 7 different amphibians, 3 species of reptiles and 14 different fish have been registered. In all 200 species which is quite amasing considering the size of the Sanctuary.
