Himlingoeje Church

Himlingoeje Church

The church appears today as a late Gothic church from 1475 to 1500. The most notable is that the interior of the east tower wall there are visible remains of an earlier Romanesque rotunda from about 1100. Presumably, the church is listed as a defensive structure against the Wends, whose raids recently culminated in the 1100s. Open by appointment.
