About this experience

Tilia Alsie is a full scale copy of the Hjortspring boat, the oldest plank-built boat in Scandinavia, unearthed by the Nationalmuseeum on Als 1921-22. The original boat was offered to the Gods in 350 B. C. The boat is 18 meters long and 2 meters wide and weighs 550 kgs. It is constructed of lime wood and sewn together with lime fibre cord. Crew - 22 "warriors".
