About this experience

Andy's experience as a Brecon Beacons National Park warden shines through in his guided tours of the area and this mountain hike to the summit of Pen y Fan is no exception. Andy has been to the top so many times he has lost count! In all weathers! For sunrise and sunset! In all seasons!

This is a sunset walk and timed to catch the last of the rays as we reach the summit of the highest point in Southern Britain, Pen y Fan. This iconic mountain symbolises the unique nature of the Brecon Beacons National Park and is just about the finest of locations to witness the sun on its daily journey.

Andy has been delivering walks at this location for over thirty years and his knowledge of the area, its farming heritage and its natural environments will be his to share with you as you take in this must-do walk in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park!

Lilly said 'Andy is simply an amazing person! He’s an excellent guide, delivering amazing outdoor activities in Wales. Being new to Wales, joining Andy’s tours has been for me a great opportunity to get to know Wales.'

Please Note
A reasonable level of fitness is required for all of our walks. As our walks are open to all, clients who are considerably slower than average will be asked at a suitable and safe point on the hike to head back to the start. This is to ensure that those that have booked and are of average fitness will continue to enjoy the day without risk. If walking with us please know that the weather can change and at times we do need to keep moving, especially in winter, to remain warm and safe.
