Choosing a guided tour increases your chances of seeing the Northern Lights in Iceland, as these experts will decide where the best location is each night, to get the best view of the Aurora.
Once you are in location, you should be able to witness this amazing phenomenon of nature. The Northern Lights, also known as the Aurora Borealis, are caused by the interaction of particles from the sun with the upper atmosphere near the Magnetic Pole.
In Iceland they are visible during the winter months, from late August to April, and appear in many different colors, although light green and pink are the most common.
If you are interested, ask the guide for some basic information on how to take the best pictures of the Aurora. You will have plenty of time to take photos and admire the lights before returning to Reykjavik by bus.
