About this experience

In Sweden urban farming is more of an institution than a trend and Swedes have been farming in urban areas since the late 1800’s in so called “kolonilotter” (allotment garden).

Allotment gardens or “kolonilotter” are plots of land made available for individual, non-commercial gardening or growing food plants.

The plots are formed by subdividing a piece of city land into parcels that are assigned to individuals or families, to be cultivated individually.
