Here you can find trees of very old age, the oldest pine in the area is 450 years.

In contrast to the primeval forest, you can also walk around in open deciduous forest that grew up after the forest fire that took place here for about 100 years ago. Here you can still find old fire stumps.

On the north side of Djupsjön there is a parking and a rest area. From here you can walk along a path straight into the primeval forest.

The beach on the east side is blocky and somewhat difficult to walk on. The south side is easier to walk but with much younger forest.

The deep lake has good water quality which benefits the trout and freshwater pearl mussel stock in the lake.
