Southern Norway, Norway

About this experience

To begin with, the trail follows a tractor road and is fairly flat, before turning into a path with a gradual ascent to the top. Several good viewpoints to the south. When you reach the small lake, follow the path in a northeasterly direction until you reach the summit and the cairn. A local name for Vorehei is “Røysa” (“the stone pile”) as there are evident marks of an ancient burial mound here. “Vorehei” itself means “Guardian hill”, suggesting that it has been part of an ancient chain of beacons. At the cairn there is a guest book. Recommended footwear: hiking shoes or solid trainers.
