About this experience

Hovdefjell is a great hiking tour.

The views at the top are formidable, and in clear weather you can see the sea and many neighboring counties.

To get there you need to drive a 3 kilometre long gravel road 300 meters up to the summit.

Visitors can also go on an idyllic forest trail that starts from the south side of the mountain.

You can also take the county road 415 south towards Åmli which leads to a small dirt road on top of the hill before driving down towards Nelaugkrysset.

Here you will find a small parking lot, and the beginning of the trail to the summit.

A map can be purchased at the Esso petrol station in Vegårshei, Kilsloftet, Færsnes Gjestegård or the Vegårshei kommune house in the centre of town.
