About this experience

This building is a copy of a mansion on the border between Scotland and England. It was the local judge Friderich Fridrichsen who had the mansion built, and the grand structure was completed in 1766. Master builder George Johnston was brought from the north of England to take charge of the project, and the park was designed by the Danish-German gardener Friedrich Ludvig Blumenthal. Today the building forms part of the town hall.
