About this experience

Østhassel Rescue Station is the only complete preserved rescue station in Norway. This is a fascinating piece of culture and it's an exciting and eductional place to visit. The rescue station is under the protection of the Directorate of Cultural Heritage (Riksantikvaren).

The first rescue stations at Lista was established in 1854. The rescue station at Østhassel was finished in 1892. The rescue station was manned until year 1972.
