Between Lindesnes and Lista there is a lighthouse which has assisted many ships up through the years. Katland lighthouse was built in 1878. The lighthouse was inhabited for 70 years - with seven keepers and their families.

Katland lighthouse was automated in 1948. Katland lighthouse is 2.5 nautical miles from Farsund. It is a lighthouse assigned to guide and lead the boats approaching Farsund and the outport Loshavn. Southern Katland is very exposed to the wind so be careful.
