About this experience

Elvarheim museum is situated close to the old stone bridge in the center of Åmli in the beautiful community building from 1925.

Here, you also find the hiking track up to Trogfjell mountain and a nice bathing spot.

Elvarheim museum focuses on the utilization of the forest and human harvesting of natural resources.

At the museum, you can see the four largest Scandinavian carnivores: bear, wolf, wolverine, and lynx, as well as many other smaller predators and birds, and a beaver exhibition.

You will also find traps, trapping equipment, and other things that bear witness to human exploitation of nature in the past and present.

Open: June to mid-August, 11 am to 4 pm. Closed on Mondays. Open on Sundays in September.
