Trollfjell Unesco Gobal Geopark
Helgeland, NorwayThe island of Leka was formed by an incredible force, 400 million years ago when America and Europe clashed together. You can walk through its seabed crust and experience ice ages that have shaped the bedrock, like Torghatten with its hole throughout.
Strandflata is a global phenomenon that emerged from the ice after the last ice age. The Trollfjell Geopark is located here and offers a huge variety of walking and hiking trails, some with QR codes for geological stories, or for cycling, kayaking and island-hopping. This spectacular landscape can be explored year-round, with much of it accessible to all.
Experience natural wonders, taste local cuisine, and explore the unique history on the island.
