About this experience

Svortland is the starting point for the cycling trip to Hiskjo. Follow the road north past the council offices. At the roundabout, turn left towards Meling. At Økland, follow the signs to Hiskjo, to the left at the crossroads. Turn left at Melingskrysset crossroads, south towards Hiskjo. You then cycle seven kilometres through open landscape on all sides. There are lovely beaches on the east side of the road and a lovely, old quay when you arrive in Hiskjo after 12 km. There is a marked road from the quay to Hiskholmen, called the 'island of the Saga Kings'. There used to be a good harbour here both for small boats and their crew. When the weather was rough, this harbour always offered shelter out here at the ocean's edge. The route has a total length of 23. 5 km, and it is pretty flat and easy to cycle with an altitude difference of 44 metres.
