About this experience

The area between Eidsfoss waterfalls and Gloppefjord is renowned for good salmon fishing. Many of the promising salmon holes have English names from the time when the "salmon lords" from Great Britain leased the river at the end of the 1800s. To date the biggest salmon caught in the river is 26 kg. Eidsfoss falls is 33 metres high and is one of the world`s highest salmon stairs - a whole 230 metres high. Drive in there from main road E-39. Information board on the site. It is also possible to approach Holvikfoss waterfall from the Kleive pond.
