Historic Kopervik
Fjords, NorwaySmall town Kopervik is a charming mix of old and new settlement offering many pleasant surprises. At Treborg some of the older timber buildings are intact, interspersed with shapely modern additions. The settlement sprang up in the early 1800s, when rich herring fisheries motivated people to form a community of craftsmen, traders and fish salteries on the banks of the sheltered strait. Today Kopervik is a lively place with a nice harbour for yachtsmen and pedestrian shopping precinct. There is a range of small shops and cafes, and public amenities like the Culture Centre, Cinema, Skate Park, and indoor Swimming Pool Karmøy Hall. A Disc golf course is available in Liarlund forest. Pumptrack Park in Kopervik can be found at Stangeland.
