A great hike on a clear day, going up Barlindåsen Ridge is relatively easy and comes with a big reward as you look down on Oslo from the northeastern side of the city.

The trail is located near Maridalsvannet, Oslo’s largest lake.

Difficulty level: Medium

Distance, one way: 5.7 kilometres (3.6 miles)

Elevation change: 200 metres (656 feet)

Time consumption: 2-2.5 hours

Transportation: Park your car at Sandermosen train station. The train does not stop there.
