The trails run through a spectacular scenery ranging from pine forests down in the valley to breathtaking mountain terrain with the Ruten peak at 1, 500 m a. s. l.

With its panoramic views towards Jotunheimen as well as Rondane, this is Eastern Norway's best vantage point. The network comprises snowmobile-prepared as well as machine-groomed tracks.

Espedalen is the starting point for the Peer Gynt Trail which is a route across to Fefor and Gålå and then on to Skeikampen.
