Dovrefjell
Gudbrandsdalen valley, NorwayThe Dovrefjell mountains, with their two national parks Dovre and Dovrefjell-Sunndalsfjella, are located in Eastern Norway, close to other popular mountain areas like Rondane and Jotunheimen.
Not only is Dovrefjell an excellent arena for hiking, biking, and horseback riding – this is also where you can meet the mythical musk oxen. At the award-winning Viewpoint Snøhetta, named after the nearest mountain peak, nature is united with modern architecture. The sheltered observation pavilion has a warm atmosphere where you can relax and admire the view.
The divine landscape in Dovrefjell is also a backdrop for parts of the pilgrim trail St. Olav Ways from Oslo to Trondheim. The calming vibes from nature, the villages and their strong cultural heritage will all help you unwind and clear your head.
Dovrefjell is yours to explore for as long as you like. Mountain cabins welcome you with open arms and a bed for the night, as well as tasty local food and drink.
