Skien is Norway's only city with canal facilities for boat traffic, locks and fishing ladders in down town. The new fish ladder will ensure that four important species - the Atlantic wild salmon, sea trout, eel and harbor island - can get past the power stations and further up to the spawning and growing areas in the Telemark watercourse. The fish ladder are also an urban space with outdoor artrium.
