About this experience

Råde Forsvarsmuseum (Museum of "defence", of armed forces) in the "Teltebua" has been created by Råde Defence Union. The collection shall provide visitors with a piece of the history of the Norwegian Defence Forces, focusing on local history.

Through the exhibition, pictures and description the idea is to show the situation during the war years 1940-45, and how the people of the community were involved. For instance, it is displayed how a milorg-man opens a container recently dropped from an airplane.

Råde Museum of Armed Forces is open Saturdays and Sundays in July, from 11.00 to 14.00. In addition, the museum will be open during the marked and town days. By contacting the cultural office one can be appointed a guide for a tour of the museum.
