About this experience

Oscarsborg Fortress Museum is a must-see for anyone visiting the Oslo Fjord. Located on an island in the middle of the fjord, the fortress is one of the best preserved fortresses in Norway and offers a fascinating insight into Norway's military history.

The museum offers guided tours of the fortress, which includes the old gunpowder magazine, the old barracks and the old officers' quarters. There is also a museum shop and a café. The fortress is also home to the world's oldest military music corps, the Oscarsborg Fortress Orchestra. The orchestra performs concerts throughout the summer months and is a great way to experience the history of the fortress.

The fortress is also home to a number of events throughout the year, including the annual Oscarsborg Summer Festival. So, if you're looking for a unique and interesting experience, then a visit to the Oscarsborg Fortress Museum is a must.
