About this experience

Gardbergfeltet in Vestre Slidre in Valdres is an area of more than 2 square kilometres.

Here you will find more than 550 burial mounds and more than 900 discoveries from the Roman Iron Age and the Viking Age.

The whole area has been used as a burial place throughout the period from the older and younger Iron Age.

Here you will also find Einangsteinen - The Einang Stone - from around 300 AD, being the oldest runic stone in Northwestern Europe.
