Mýrdalsjökull glacier is a stunning natural wonder of Iceland. It is the fourth largest glacier in the country, covering an area of 595 km2 and reaching a height of 1491 m.

It is located in the south of Iceland, on top of the active volcano Katla. The glacier is a popular destination for tourists, offering a variety of activities such as glacier walks, snowmobiling, and ice climbing.

The glacier is also home to a variety of wildlife, including arctic foxes, reindeer, and ptarmigans. Katla is one of the most active volcanoes in Iceland, with eruptions occurring on average every 40-80 years. It is located beneath the glacier and is one of the most powerful volcanoes in the country.
