About this experience

The church of Forssa was built in 1917 in the middle of the Civil War. It was inaugurated in 1918.

The style of the church is gothic and it was designed by architect Josef Stenbäck. It has many beautiful and decorative features both on the inside and the outside. The church tower rises all the way up to 45 metres.

One speciality of the church is that the altar is facing west. The glass paintings of the altar are widely known. They symbolize the birth of the Christ, the crucifixion and the resurrection.
