Vestenskov Church
Zealand, DenmarkThe church is a stunning example of both Romanesque and Gothic architecture, built with vibrant red monk bricks in the 1200th century - not once, but twice. The oldest section of the church is the chancel and eastern half of the nave, also dating back to the 1200s. Within the peaceful cemetery lies a unique Lolland bell stable, constructed from durable oak timber and covered with sleek horizontal boards. Inside the church, the altarpiece is a treasured piece from 1590, though it has been modified over the years. Adding to the beauty of the church is a painting of the Holy Communion on the board, believed to be from the 1650s. A true masterpiece, the intricately carved pulpit dates back to 1627 and features depictions of Jesus Christ and the three evangelists.
