Roedvig Marine Engine Museum
Zealand, DenmarkAbout this experience
Both children and adults with an eye and ear for old technology and nostalgia will enjoy visiting Roedvig Marine Engine Museum in Havnevej. The Museum includes a fine collection of 150 marine engines, dating as far back as 1903.
When an engine is started for the benefit of visitors, it must be preheated by a blow lamp. Then the start takes place with the aid of a crank or compressed air - and the sound of yesterday´s fishing boat is heard thoughout the museum.
On view are also ship models, blowlamps, blocks from sailing ships and a lot more.
Outside stands "Vivi", a fishing boat open to visitors.
