North Jutland, Denmark

About this experience

In days gone by, it was believed that the so called ‘eye’-tree could cure rickets if you crawled through the eye. In 1952, the three princesses Margrethe, Benedikte and Anne Marie all crawled through the eye, and so the three was named the Princess Tree.

It was the forest’s most famous tree. The tree snapped in a storm in 1994 and no longer exists, but in Troldeskoven there is another ‘eye’-tree with two eyes, which can be crawled through.
