The groynes at Sæby

North Jutland, Denmark

About this experience

You'll find excellent fishing opportunities both north and south from Sæby marina, at the stone groynes. There are good chances to catch flounder and plaice, because of the depth between the groynes and out to the 1st sandbank. It is not necessary to use waders because the groynes ensures the depth as well as function as an "eatery" especially for the flounders and plaice. There are also good chances to catch garfish and sea trout, especially during spring and in the fall. Remember the protection zone at the Sæby stream outlet. If you travel north of Sæby Søbad (Sæby seaside resort) then you are outside the protection zone and fishing is permitted.
