Fishing from the moles in the Skagen area

North Jutland, Denmark
Slider image
About this experience

The sea around Skagen supplies fish to large parts of northern Europe. You can fish from the breakwaters at Skagen and Aalbæk. After the expansion of the Port of Skagen the options have greatly improved.

Depending on the season, there are chances of catching cod, plaice, herring, garfish and mackerel. It is also possible to fish directly from the Skagerrak and Kattegat beaches. On the Skagerrak coast the water quickly becomes deep and the fish come closer to shore looking for food. On the Kattegat coast it can be an advantage to wade further out. There is the chance of sea trout in both places.

Remember the mandatory fishing licence that you can buy on www. fisketegn. dk.
