Gundersted Church
North Jutland, DenmarkAbout this experience
The church of Gundersted had to be reconstructed after a fire in 1589. Quite a number of the original ashlars were recycled, though.
The baptismal font dates back to the 12th century just like the original church, whereas the altarpiece dates back to 1912. It was made by Frantz Schwarts and represents Jesus praying in the Garden of Gethsemane consoled by a protecting Angel.
General opening hours:
Daily Tuesday-Saturday.
