About this experience

Faaborg Church is an old monasterychurch, commenced 1477.

The church was, the south wing, part of a now demolished monastery-complex.

The church is named 'The holy spirit church', after the monastic order who build it.

Considering the size of the city, the church is very impressiv (46 m long, l9 m broad in the nave and 8 m in the choir).

In the choir you find monks chairs from the catholic periode, you also find a very beautiful churchcabinet from the demolished St. Nikolai church, of which church only the belfry remains.

The church has a new organ from 1979 with 34 stops.
