Walk along the harbour

About this experience

Start your walk at Risnes, heading south along the sea toward the old ship's pilot cottage (Loshytta). Continue to the Monsen House and Hummeren Hotel. The statue by the harbour shows "The Girls of Faltholmen", who struggled heroically to save their father and brother in a ferocious storm. Further along the harbour is Krabbeloftet, a gallery for local art and handicrafts. The trail continues to old Tananger, where you can buy shrimp on the quay and relax as you peer out to sea. The maritime environment here is a blend of new and old, with fishermen still bringing in their catch. Do visit the exhibition at the Coastal Culture Collections (Kystkultursamlingen).
