About this experience

Dorf Mill

The windmill in Dorf, was built in 1887, and was operated until the 1950’s. The windmill served as auxiliary turbine to a water-driven mill that already existed in 1664.

The watermill only had one mill which was driven by surface water from forest streams and a small spring. It could grind both summer and winter except in drought and by frosty weather: At the related Møllegården (built in 1925) you get an impression of contemporary agriculture as well as the opportunity to visit the local hunting and forestry museum.

At the mills you find a café, a fine parking place and tables and benches. Toilets and information is to be found at Møllegården. On the website you will find a list of the activity days at the mill and the Møllegården.
